“Xeque-mate(s)” Exhibition at Casa SP–Arte
09/02/2024
Casa SP–Arte opened its first international exhibition with “Xeque-mate(s)” [Checkmate(s)] by Colombian artist Oscar Murillo.
Organized by the kurimanzutto gallery, with locations in Mexico City and New York, the show features a selection of Murillo's works in dialogue with notable Brazilian artists such as Lygia Pape, Hélio Oiticica, Lygia Clark, and Sônia Gomes. Curated by Mark Godfrey, the exhibition uses geometric patterns and grids to connect Brazilian art with Murillo's abstract and expressionist production.
